The following Google Sites Basics lessons will prepare you with a fundamental understanding of Sites, its key features, and general benefits in the classroom. With a basic understanding of Google Sites, you can build a collaborative online space to display and curate information. Sites can be used in versatile ways to address teaching and learning in the classroom.

You will learn how to:

  • Create a school or classroom website
  • Share a site for viewing and collaboration for editing
  • Personalize your site with fonts, colors, and images
  • Customize your site layout
  • Embed YouTube videos, Google Calendars, Google Forms, and other Google media
To start, review the Basic lessons below and conduct all activities. It is recommended you have another browser or computer screen available to practice the step-by-step exercises.When you are finished, review the Advanced lessons in the Sites section to gain a deeper understanding of how to use these tools to impact teaching and learning.
